I've been inspire by the art challenges and felt the urge to dip my toe in the water.
I have never in my entire life posted any of my art so I'm not sure how I feel about this. I am sure that this piece shouldn't be my first. But here we go anyway.
I know this is an old subject but I watched my first whole episode of "Lost" last night. It seems like Sawyer is a pretty pivotal character. I lost the likeness pretty early on but continued just for the exercise. Ouch! It's been along time since I picked up a stylus...Be gentle.

Great pic Jeff! I don't think you lost the likeness at all. I recognized him immediately.

It's great to see you participate in the Art Challenge.

Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome Jeff Bunker, our beloved Art Director!!

Ps: Be carefull with Lost Jeff. I got hooked after the second episode!

I like that his hair and eyes are about the only thing that drops below the value of the blue.

Walter points out that the only problem with his likeness is that he's smiling. I'd agree, but I've only seen two episodes so far.

I admit I didn't recognize him, but then again I have never seen Lost. But a very nice painting I thought it was colored pencil for a while. Great

Welcome to blogging, Jeff! I don't think I've ever seen much of your artwork. I'm glad to see you'll be posting some occasionally. This is a nice start. Sawyer smiles sometimes... normally after doing something that hurts other people or himself.

You know Sam, the technique you are referring to with my values is what I like to call "laziness". The more values you compress into your midtone the less you have to paint.

Jeff, is this "laziness" technique something you would condone for the workplace? I mean, it worked out pretty well here.
