Landscape of the Somewhat Deep...

This is one of the first paintings I *completed* since working here at Avalanche. I thought it would be cool if naval travel over land was magically made possible...interesting idea and rudimentary implementation.

Please hack and slash at this one. The only way I can improve is to see what I can do better next time...

Cool concept. My suggestion would be to work a little more with the colors. They seem a bit dull and muted---I think increasing the saturation would fix some of this, but also bringing a stronger lighting and color scheme into the image would help a lot. Again, neat idea.

I took your painting and raised the contrast and the saturation and it helped a lot. It sometimes helps to step back, make contrast and saturation adjustments then continue with your painting. For a dreamy concept you might want to push the colors beyond the natural pallete. i think its a good concept and a good basic composition.

Hey Jason, Its good to see that you're painting. I think that you could impose a little more atmosphere on not only the mountains but down through the valley to push it all back a bit. I think the floating river between castles is a pretty cool concept.
