Zumtar's Curse

Once the most tightly woven of friendships, the two square off in the hopes to plunge their blades in to where the wizened man's curse had already pierced. A lifetime of child's play with clashing sticks left them with an almost primeval awareness of the other, and instinctually they could not gull one another. Indeed, the darkest fortune was that there were none left to give audience, for a duel was drawing near that could only give birth to legend.

You are a strange man and an incredible painter, sir. I applaud you on both fronts.

Quite the narrative you have going on there...

I like the raw style of the painting--it has a lot of tension because of it. Also, genius use of diagonal lines countered by one solitary, solid horizontal line of the bow--the moment of calm just before the battle...

We need to be cautious that this blog doesn't turn into a monthly topical creative writing competition. I worry about posts like this, be careful when you dabble in the dark art of storytelling, we are but simple visual artists here.
but very nicely painted

I only wish that the movie trailer guy with the awesome voice could stand next to me and read the text as I look at the picture. Maybe you could add "In the past...." to the beginging just for effect. Very cool idea.
