The climax of Wind Waker is one I'll never forget. Traditionally your final showdown with Ganon pits you against a ferocious magic-infused beast, but this time Link found himself matching swords with the man himself. No magic, no transformations, no place to hide... just a David vs. Goliath sword fight to the death as a secluded aquatic world falls apart around you.

Wind Waker has the best Zelda story, hands-down. And the best final battle as you've described.

Can't agree with you more, that ending was badass. The game itself was so good, even tho it got a lot of heat from uber fanboys. I loved the art style.
