The official, unofficial blog of Avalanche Software employees.
Avalanche is a game development studio. We created the Tak and the Power of Juju property for Nickelodeon and we were recently acquired by Disney. We are currently creating new properties and developing games based on Disney Feature Animation films.
This blog is a vehicle to help keep us creatively fresh and help us sharpen our skills... but mostly for fun.
You have a twisted mind, Scott. I'm a little uneasy working down the hall from you. But seriously, there are some areas of this that are very nicely rendered.
Beautiful rendering Scott. My favorite of yours by far! I agree with Sam on the position of the hand. It's a little disturbing... well... it goes well with the rest I guess! :)
Awesome! I hadn't realized that "scott" was you, because of the icon I thought it was just some goofy third party viewer that liked defending your work.
I thought this was cool, and then I noticed thet he/she is playing a guitar hero guitar, and it instantly became, as Ryan Wood said, the best painting ever!
Excellent piece! I think we all need shirts

Nice job, Scott---Magenta lightning totally rocks! I have to say that I'm not sure about the positioning of the hand coming out of the ground, though.
ReplyDeleteAwww Yeah. Best. Painting. Ever.
ReplyDeleteNow even I want to play guitar hero.
ReplyDeleteOh man, this made my morning! I can't wait for Guitar Hero II! I love how he's a combination of all those great 80s metal band albumn covers! Rad!!
ReplyDeleteThe perspective, both atmospheric and otherwise clearly indicate that the hand is coming out of the ground several feet behind him.
ReplyDeleteI nominate this dude for company mascot. Nice work dude!

ReplyDeleteDoesn't matter. People tend to read images iconically. Especially in this case---it's centered between his legs, making it seem carefully placed.
I'm just saying, if the hand is supposed to be there, fine. But if it's an accident, it's an easy problem to fix.

ReplyDeletehow about we settle on "akward tangent" to describe the hand.
ReplyDeleteAwesome!
